About Your Camp Leaders

Hello! We are Christy Darji and Brandon Darji - the founders and leaders of True North Kids Camp. It is a joy and a privilege to work alongside one another as mother and son!
For over 17 years, I, Christy, have had the privilege of serving children and families through education, counseling, and wellness practices. As a certified teacher, registered mental health counselor intern, and children’s yoga teacher, I bring a trauma-informed and nurturing approach to every part of camp. My heart is to create a space where each child feels truly seen, valued, and safe to be themselves while learning skills that support their emotional well-being, strengthen their faith, and build lasting confidence.
Alongside me is my son, Brandon, who leads with enthusiasm and heart. Brandon has several years of experience serving as a 4-H camp leader and is CPR/AED certified, as well as a certified lifeguard. He is currently working toward his personal training certification, driven by his passion for helping others grow stronger—both physically and mentally. Brandon brings incredible energy, joy, and fun to camp, creating an environment where kids feel encouraged to try new things, be themselves, and enjoy every moment.
Together, we are committed to creating more than just a fun summer experience. We are building a space where children can grow in confidence, develop meaningful relationships, learn to care for their minds and bodies, and deepen their understanding of God’s love for them.

Endorsements

"Christy is an inspiring and thoughtful therapist who leads with a passion for supporting children and their families. She approaches her work with warmth, creativity, and expertise, meeting children where they are to create safety and nurture growth. Christy builds rapport quickly, plans carefully, and adapts her techniques to each child's unique needs. Over the years, I have seen the children Christy works with grow in awareness and confidence; they often become equally passionate about the mindfulness exercises, crafts, and regulation activities she incorporates into her practice. Her calm presence, ethical integrity, and genuine compassion make measurable differences in the lives of the children and families she serves."
